For several years, our explorers are persuaded that it is in the reserve of Megantoni, situated in the North of Lacco, and not in the national park of Manú, that hides the legendary city. The numerous vestiges which they discovered seem to put them on the track of a "main site" which controlled formerly this territory of old Tawantinsuyu. It is not only their conviction, it is also the one of the Matsiguengas of Megantoni who speak to Thierry Jamin since 2010 of "monumental ruins" situated at the top of a mountain near the sources of the rio Timpía.

The sites of Lacco and Chunchusmayo, the terraces of cultures and the stony ways met in 2011 in the valley of Cusirini, at the heart of the Sanctuary of Megantoni, lead any right towards this zone. In June, 2012, at the request of Thierry Jamin, Astrium, the toulousian company (France – E.U.), one of the world leaders in spatial technologies, realizes several satellite photos of a sector situated somewhere towards the sources of the rios Timpía and Ticumpinia. Bingo !

Somewhere, in the North of the National Sanctuary of Megantoni, the satellites pictures of Pleiades, reveal the existence of a strange quadrangular formation.

A mysterious square formation of eight hundred meters aside, situated at the top of a mountain of average height, intrigue the French explorer and all his team. Especially as the Matsiguengas of the region assures that it is the place where hides the famous "ruins of Pantiacolla"… in other words Paititi !

A few hundred meters away from there, a mysterious "square lake" and four twin lagoons are located. They seem to confirm the legend which asserts that Paititi would be exactly near such areas of the water. The Incas would have cross-posted quantities of precious objects after the invasion of the empire by the Spaniards there.

In October, 2013, Thierry Jamin and the group Inkari leave on the tracks of the lost city. Accompanied with Matsiguengas, Ashanincas and Kuga Pakuris, they manage to approach thirty kilometers of lagoons and the famous mountain.

A few hundred meters away from the strange square formation, mysterious lagoons appear to confirm the legend of Paititi.

On the spot, they also knot invaluable contacts and collect new testimonies on the existence of a major archeological site situated at the top of this "altiplano cut well" (sic). This operation of recognition allows them finally to identify the obstacles natural to avoid and localizing the best accesses to reach the site...

In July, 2014, Thierry and his group leave to Megantoni, on the tracks of the lost city. The objective of this new campaign was to reach the twin lakes and the famous square mountain. They try to reach the site by the ascent of the rio Ticumpinia, but are quickly surrounded by the leader of the native community of Sabamantiari who refuses them the entrance on its territory. The explorers try then to reach their zone of search by raising the rio Shiwaniro. At the end of a few days, a series of pongos, or canyons, situated towards the sources of the river, and the dangerous reduction in their reserves of food, force Thierry and his companions to turn back and to return to Cusco.

This last campaign was not for all that a failure. The French explorer knows from now on the unique way of access to reach the famous ruins. In this perspective, the campaign "Inkari 2015" is already on the rails...
